Maplelag Resort is the midwest's premier nordic skiing destination. Situated close to the praire-forest border in Northwest Minnesota, Maplelag is nestled in a rolling landscape mottled with pothole lakes left by the retreat of the last glacial ice sheet. Situated on Little Sugarbush Lake, Maplelag is surrounded by a maple-
basswood forest. The 60 plus kilometers of trails are well maintained
and groomed and provide a diverse range of skill levels from beginner
to advanced. Trails wind around, up, and down through the hilly terrain
(especially compared to the extreme flatness of the Red River Valley)
and offer a feeling of remoteness. The resort has all of the essentials
for relaxation including a sauna and hot tub, wonderful meals, a bottomless
cookie jar, quiet and comfortable lounge areas, and delightful conversation.
